Hrithik Roshan – From Fat To Fit In Less Than Three Months
They may have great looks, lots of wealth and immense popularity but the one thing that always amazes us about our favorite celebrities is their fitness and god-like bodies. While being able to sport eight pack abs with the right cuts at right places is related to you genes, DNA and general lifestyle it is also true that those factors alone cannot help one look like an action figure out of the comic books. Thus, if there is one sight that celebrity media and paparazzi would do anything to get there hands on, its that of seeing those larger than life celebs as fat and unhealthy.
In Bollywood such sights are mostly limited to actresses who battled weight issues at the start of their careers such as Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Kareena Kapoor, as well as a few actors like Madhavan and Govinda who were never known for their fitness in the first place. However, the sight of a Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan or Shahid Kapoor in a state that is even close to fat is absolutely unthinkable.
The truth however is that even for such people, a few months of indulgence and periods of neglecting their bodies can make them look flabby and almost unrecognizable. A few days ago, Hrithik Roshan who is often compared to the Greek god Adonis for his magnificently chiseled features, released pictures of himself in a condition that most of us are not familiar with. Hrithik indicated that the last few months of 2011 were really tough for him as he was recovering from double slipped disc and his movements were limited.
Two-and-half-months ago, I started out from a very dark place. I was in deep depression because I was laid up in bed thanks to my back. I was eating all kinds of junk food – all the cupcakes and brownies that people were sending me to make me feel better. Even with all the education I have about health and fitness, I didn’t see a way out in the short time I had to prepare for “Krrish 2”. – Hrithik Roshan
So Hrithik essentially had about 10 weeks in which he needed to get in-shape to be ready for the shoot of Krrish 2, a feat considered unattainable and almost impossible. Fortunately, for Hrithik he came across a couple called Kris Genthin and Maraica Johnson, a trainer and nutritionist pair who were highly experienced in the principles of Paul Mckenna and the healthy way to lose weight. As described in a three part series titled “The Smart Way to Lose Weight“, the secret to lean and fit body that does not depend on extreme exercise and crash dieting is “to develop a deep understanding of how our metabolism works and to change the way we think about food“.
The ability to achieve a transformation similar to Hrithik is quite difficult for ordinary individuals with regular jobs, but a little restraint in the foods we consume and more awareness on this topic is what is needed to create fitter and healthier society. Thanks Hrithik for sharing your human side and surely we are all looking forward to watching Agneepath and Krrish 2.
